White Horse Vale Lipizzans celebrates the Holiday Season with a video of long reining, driving and dressage riding. Merry Christmas!
we don't do christmas cards often, we just card-reply to the cards we get, lol, but this year we were thinking of making them. in the past we've just used family pictures from vacations, but we only have like 2 and they're awful. we thought it might be nice to have one of my horse dressed up christmasy (santa hat & garland or reindeer antlers & red nose) since its sort of original compared to a typical card...but is it show-offish? most people know i have a horse, but not all of the people we'd be sending cards too. i wouldn't be in the picture, just him. i thought that might make it better, not so "look at me! i have a horse!" and more "aww, he's cute" haha.
so what do you think?
Yes! It would be total Show offishness!!!
And... when you do yours, will you come over and do mine??!
Hehe, seriously, anyone who thinks you are being all snotty doesn't deserve such a cool card. I love it when cards are personalized!
I might have to steal your idea.....
I would like to send them some cheer this holiday season so maybe it will take their mind off their injuries. But I have 2 questions:
1) where do I send them
2) who's injured, I haven't seen a horse race since the Breeder's Cup so I have no idea if any body got hurt.
I wonder if I can send Christmas cards to injured horses?
The organization responsible for the care of injured/disabled riders would be the Jockeys Guild. You can access their website at www.jockeysguild.com. Shevawn Moore, an administrative assistant, at the Jockeys Guild, is the person you will need to contact relative to the names and addresses of injured/disabled jockeys. Her email address is: smoore@jockeysguild.com. Thanks for your concern!

I Need Ideas For A Christmas Card With My Horse. Last Year i Did Santa And He Was A Deer. He Is A Flee Bitten Gray.
I think you should make him Santa this year! Red hat, put a beard on him and two big red "saddle bags" hanging on the sides.
Every year I hand make Christmas cards to send to friends and family. Last year I had a really hard time figuring out designs, so I was wondering if anyone could offer some websites for inspiration, or even some thoughts for inspiration.
I rubber stamp the pictures and most of the writing I print on my computer. I have Snowflakes, Snowmen, Pine trees, City of David, Joseph leading Mary riding a donkey toward a star, A family riding in a one horse open sleigh, Christmas Wreaths, Stars, and Angels.
I'm looking for ideas of what the card can say, what pictures to use, and how the card should be folded to open. Also, suggestions on what colors to use. I tend to favor rich burgundy red, and dark pine green colors, so only black ink shows up on those.
I really appreciate the inspiration.
There are many sites that would be helpful and inspirational in designing your card. Keep in mind that you may not own the particular stamp that they show, but you can adapt the design to your stamps.
Some helpful sites would include:
www.heroarts.com
www.splitcoaststampers.com
www.gingerwood.com
www.paperinspirations.com
Also, when using dark cardstock, there are light colored inks specifically made for stamping on dark papers. For ink information try:

Good Luck.
Ryedale horse, Bothy, completes hat-trick of wins at Taunton
A Ryedale horse, forced to travel 560 miles last week to Somerset and back for his passport to the Cheltenham Festival, returned home with rather more than his essential certification.
Bothy, trained in Norton by Brian Ellison, completed a hat-trick of wins over hurdles at Taunton to book his place in the Fred Winter Novices’ Handicap Hurdle at the forthcoming four-day extravaganza. Furthermore, he is now guaranteed a place in the line-up.
Ellison explained: “In order to run at Cheltenham, he had to have three previous outings and, with so many meetings in the north lost to the weather, my only option to qualify him was to send him to Taunton.”
It wasn’t for the first time that Bothy had completed the 500-mile-plus round-trip to the West Country.
xmas cards horses | Horseback Riding Camps
My boyfriend keeps hinting at what he got me for xmas. Lately he’s been saying “when i get you a ring”. We’ve only been dating for 5 months and we’ve moved in together. (please no negative comments it’s going good and feels like we’ve known each other forever). He has said you can fit a horse in it which I think is just a coverup and says its somewhere in our apartment. Said he’s spent almost $500 on it. Today I found a $10 off card to a jewelery store. I’m just scared that he already got me an engagment ring, I’m not ready to get engaged quite yet. Any ideas what else it could be?
well maybe its just a bracelet or necklace? but it is is a ring maybe its just a promise ring those are way less scary then an engagement ring but still very sweet!
