Bird Xmas Card

Answers

How would you react if you received this Christmas card from your friends?
HAPPY NEW YEAR

Quote:

"Money is tight
Times are hard
Here's your f*cking
Xmas card"

Featuring a very angry and ugly elf flipping the bird beside the poem.
Just to add: you received it in the mail and it wasn't signed. The only reason you knew who it was from was by the envelope it came in.

That is mean and tasteless. I wouldn't like it.

Wild Bird's Christmas Card

This was the scene at my bird feeder at 9:00 AM on the 18 TH December 2008 during a snow storm. Can you imagine such a beautiful specimen as this ...

Three wild bird trapped inside in a week? An omen?
Christmas: Gentle Friends

Within the past 7 days I have had three birds trapped inside. The first, was a sparrow that my cat brought inside (the first animal he has ever brought in.) After getting him out the room, the bird was fine and when I opened the door, he flew straight out.
Yesterday, I was in the bathroom and heard scratching beneath the bath. The bath is panelled in so there is no way anything could have got in from there. After taking the side off, we found a swift underneath. The only place he could have got in is through a small gap where the pipes come in so all we can imagine is that downstairs left a room open, had a hole in the ceiling through which the bird flew in, and somehow made it under there. Again, this bird was uninjured and was released absolutely fine.
Today, I got to work and we found a bird flying around inside, once more we don't know how he got in. From what we can see, he's also uninjured but as the ceiling is high we couldn't catch him. We've left him food and water and will get animal rescue out for him tomorrow. Now, this is something that has never ever happened at either my flat or work and it seems very odd that it has happened three times in the past week.
My Great Aunt died a few years ago but she had something of a phobia about birds inside to the point where she would cut them off of xmas cards and leave the card, birdless on the shelf. Could she be sending me a warning? Is this a good or bad omen or just a coincidence? Many thanks for any help!
*My aunt's phobia was down to the old wives tail that birds inside a house was a bad omen! That side of my family are descendant from romany gypsies and frequently conducted sceances and told fortunes, and such so they were very superstitious!

It could possibly be your aunt. Though my grandmother used to say that if a bird got in your house someone was going to die or get hurt. Awful superstition, I know, but one time it actually came true. I'm not kidding, my cousin was killed unexpectantly two days later. It was probably just a coincidense (I'm not superstition at all) so seriously don't worry about it. But maybe if you are worried you could research superstitions and such.

my bf sleep talks and walk it scares me sometimes plz read?
Little Robin Redbreast

my bf sleeps walks and talks alot. he is in bed at the mo fast asleep and keeps waking up talking something and i asked him what he said that the bird pen i have next to me while i was typing was flooting in the air well the wired thing is its right next to my xmas card my gran gave me and my grandad died 3 years last week do you think its a sign or something am sitting in the dark on yahoo answers. am kinda scared lol i want to put the light on hes allway pionting in his sleep say look watch out and stuff. and i know hes not joking
i am sorry about my spelling mistakes am not very good. i am working on it

I am sorry about your b'/f's problem which affects many other people too. There are many somnambulists like him.
Please see if you can record his movements/talk while he is in a state of sleep, without waking him up, by using a handy cam. Later on, if necessary, you can gently talk to him about his sleepwalking/talking stage.
This problem needs to be checked with a doctor. The picture/talk recording that you may have, would help if you happen to consult the doctor without your b/f being present. I am not suggesting that you go to the doctor without your b/f, but you know him well and he may not like to come with you or even approve of your visit for his problem. You need to handle this carefully. Good luck.

Robin... but its summer?
HAPPY NEW YEAR

Im just looking outside my window now and have noticed sitting on my fence a small brown bird with a red chest? Now the last time I saw one of those was in winter years and years ago and it was a robin. I ddidn't think they were around in the summer or maybe I just diddn't notice them before and have got accustomed to the idea of robins on a snowy witner.

Is it unusual for them to be around or is it that I'm just thinking of xmas cards pics as being the true life of robins?

They are around everyday of the year. You maybe notice them more due to the lack of foliage on the trees, and they do stand out more with there red breasts.

Why dont' the JW I kill two birds with one stone and deliver me a pizza on the way?
HAPPY NEW YEAR - EMRR side

They could start a door to door delivery service, take my xmas cards to the neighbors, ask about my lost cat. Do something useful whilst they're there. People would like them more.
They're going in that direction anyhow.
well sheeze, I think I can guess who's reported me for this question justagirl!! lol

I think this kinda belongs in R&S more. Honestly the joke has been mentioned before, example, one popular variation is "Why not have the Witnesses deliver the mail as well"

One answer to that was, no more porn would be delivered.(I'd be happy with that)

Honestly, I am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I actually have known Witnesses who were also postal employees and paper carriers.

Clearly we wouldn't specifically deliver Christmas cards since we are Christian.

Q What brought you back to Harvard after living in Santa Fe?

Like a Christmas card

Like a Christmas card

Today was like stepping into a Christmas card.

I took the kids on a horse-drawn toboggan ride.

The two horses big. This “toboggan” more like a narrow, wooden box perched on top two runners. The driver chatty about the boiling tree sap to make maple sugar. The folks in the back of the wagon friendly too. We all scrunched in, no one fell out and it was brief, but that’s what you get with free.

I’m not complaining. It was my first time in a horse-drawn toboggan. I’d gladly pay next time too.

They had a real, honest-to-goodness sleigh, just like in the Christmas carol “Jingle Bells,” but because it was even smaller than what we rode in, it was only for couples. Joe wasn’t with us today, so no romantic sleigh ride for me.
