Antique Christmas Cards

I bought three scrapbooks of circa 1910 greeting cards, mostly Easter and Christmas. Some birthday. Many are larger cards with historic sites on them. I know that vintage or antique greeting cards can be very collectible, but I don't know which ones are more desirable to collectors. I would like to sell them on eBay, but how do I choose which ones to list?

The collectibles market depends largely on condition followed by uniqueness. You should see whether you can get them out cleanly. You should list (or otherwise group) them by topic or historic site and look up examples on the internet from other dealers. You may wish to sell/offer some of your less attractive examples first in order to see if they will sell (if you are offering a fixed price) or what they get at auction. As I recall, when I was looking for specific images and they were found on post cards, people sometimes offered single and sometimes small batches/lots

Take a look at some antique Christmas Cards and you will find HAPPY HOLIDAYS and SEASONS GREETINGS abound all over the place, and everyone was happy. Nowadays say HAPPY HOLIDAYS instead of MERRY CHRISTMAS and people just about bite your head off. My God, people, are you so insecure in your believes that saying, or even hearing, something other than MERRY CHRISTMAS is enough to engage your persecution complex? It's not like HAPPY HOLIDAYS or SESONS GREETINGS in a new thing. IJR always felt the HOLIDAYS included Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Only recently did IJR realize that it could be extended to mean whatever holiday someone celebrates, weather its, SATURNALIA, YULE, WINTER SOLSTICE, HANNUAKAH, KWANZAA or even FESTIVUS.

I agree. I hope you had a Merry Christmas. There are many uneducated and stubborn people in this world. Just over look them sweety. No reason to be miserable and angry with them.

Ok lets see i have 200 bucks (and thats bill money... robbin peter to buy christmas sucks!) and i need to buy presents for:

My grandma - this is the hardest to please... i never get her something that she likes.
my mom - I found a movie she wants for 20 bucks
my step dad - im getting a 20 dollar gift card to an antique book shop for him
my sister 18 - no clue
my other sister 15 - no clue
my brother 24 - gift card to wal mart
my inlaws - sister and grand parents - the sister in law is getting a baby food warmer for 25 bucks but his grand parents are a tuff one!

now iv been working hard to make ginger bread cookies and decorating them. Christmas balls, trees, snow men, candy canes, angels ect. so my thought was ill decorate all these cookies put them in little decorative plastic bags tie some ribbon to them and voila! presents for my bosses and my guy's bosses too. and we can add them to presents were giving out to family too. Is this a good idea? any creative ideas?

I love to save money. It is a hobby of mine to put together gifts on the cheap. Some of my ideas-

Take advantage of the stores going out of business- linens n things, kb toys. If I shop online, I only look in the free shipping sections.

Go to the craft store- AC Moore, Michaels, JoAnns, etc. For my teen sister, I bought a scrapbook on sale for $3, then spent less than $15 on papers and stickers to get her started. I've used this idea many times- it looks like a lot for little money.

Walmart, Best Buy, and Circuit City sell dvds cheap. You could set up a movie night- dvd, bag of popcorn, box of candy and you're good to go. For a couple or a teen, you could buy movie tickets/gift certificates.

A little late now, but next year you could try ebay. I bid on a TN Titans watch, brand new, normally near $100. No one else bid, and there was no reserve, so I got it for 0.99! The shipping was $15, but for $16 dollars I'll take it! The watch showed up looking great within 10 days of winning.

a.) i get lots of candy, jewelry, lipgloss, gift cards, and next to the stocking there might be a gift basket containing lotions or gourmet hot chocolate--yummy!
b.) i open my stocking before presents on christmas morning.
c.) i once got a gold chain, a silver chain, and an antique carved shelf next to my stocking! it was so exciting lol=]

So I need to find a Christmas gift for my boyfriends dad. His parents both work from home so they travel almost every weekend. They're both into antiques, so I found an antique jewelry box for his mom, and I'm going to see if I can find some earrings that she might like to put in the jewelry box. I'm stuck on his dad though. He plays tennis, and he runs a tennis team, but he recently blew out his knee so he can't play tennis right now (if ever again....) I'm not sure if its insensitive to get him anything tennis related but I'm kind of at a loss as to what else there are for ideas. I would get him a tool, because obviously he's a guy and thats the go-to gift, but I don't know what he already has! Also, I don't really have more than $20 for his present, and I don't like giving gift cards....HELP!!

Get them a gas card, since they are always traveling. Its not really a "gift card" cause you are giving them gas....ya know? So if it helps to think of it that way.
