I write a Christmas card to an old lady living next to us every Christmas. For all these years I've written "To Maria and family". Earlier this year her husband passed away and her only daughter has married and moved out so Maria is now living alone.
How should I address the card this year?
It is ok to address it to just Maria.
After choosing a quality greeting card, add a personal message and be sure to write the address on the front of the envelope by hand. Avoid labels ...
he was the owner of the company that i used to work at, him and i was very close and after i moved we lost touch in a lot of ways and would like for us to talk again but not sure how to address the christmas card with out making his wife ask to many question? Please help

First you should send the card to the whole family
Second I feel you are over stepping your boundaries. He is after all a married man.
Third you left in a bad way, let things just die.

I would like to dress up my labels for my Christmas Cards but I cant seem to be able to merge the Avery template to my data which I have saved in Excel spreadsheet.
I print ordinary plain labels like this all the time using J8160 -21 labels to the page but when I download a pre-designed template from the Avery free downloads they fail to merge with my data - any suggestions please?

I use MS Word - Mail Merge to do mine.
Firstly, I select a small christmas image and print this on all the labels, usually on the lower right hand side of the label.
make is small enough so you avoid the letters of the addresses.
Once I have printed enough of the labels, I run them through the printer again - this time using the mail merge application in Wor, printing the names and addresses on the labels.
It takes a bit of time but it's worth it for a nice result.
Should I address it to the owner of the company or just put all Linden Transport Employees?
The envelope address should be the name of the company. The inside greeting should read "To My friends at (XYZ) company" or "To Mr. Boss and all at (XYZ) company"
The couple only has one child? Do you still write Mr. and Mrs. John Doe and Family?? Or should you write The Doe Family.
Also, what about a doctor with one child. Is it Dr. and Mrs. John Doe and family?
Dr. & Mrs. John Doe and son (or daughter as the case may be) is how I would address the card
