It's a long story but it was posted in this country yes 9th September
Yes, I work for card factory and I have had boxed christmas cards out in my store since the second week in August, so all the staff swapped them then, before we got sick of the site of the goddam things. If anyone is interested my tiny store alone is set to sell approx 100,000 of the bloody things.
By all standards, this past year has defied normalcy. Two thousand eight has been a year when a typical Happy Holidays card fails to express the ...
I've just found 3 cards i should have posted. Only got 2nd class stamps, not a lot of time to go buy 1st class.
when was the last day for 1st and do you think a 2nd would still get there.
Obvoulsy i need an answer tonight.
Many thanks and Happy Christmas
Oh dear, I thought as much
thanks
I'll email my greetings and save them for next year.
thanks for those last 2 answers - I'm gonna risk it - even if they get there late, at least they'll have them.
As stated in the previous answers, first class recorded delivery will NOT guarantee your card getting to its destination the next day. The last postal dates before Christmas have already expired. Advice given to you in the Post office IS useful and is the most accurate. Postmen and Postwomen will do their utmost to get the mail out as soon as possible. However, sometimes their workload can make it difficult to get the mail to you a.s.a.p. particularly over the busy Christmas period.
The only way that you are going to get your cards to get to their destination is to send them by SPECIAL DELIVERY! However, it will be rather expensive. If you go to the post office tomorrow and have them sent by special delivery, It will cost approximately £4.10 per card. And because it is Friday tomorrow, you will need to pay an extra £2. for a Saturday guarantee...£6.10. It would also depend on the size and weight of your card, the bigger and heavier it is, the more expensive. Would your friends really mind if they get their cards a little after Christmas? If they are true friends and you apologise in the card, then it will be ok. I certainly wouldnt mind if I received a late card from a friend....better late than never. Have a great Christmas and a happy new year! :o) x
Flipping city centres putting up christmas decorations at the beginning of October.Christmas cards are in the shop! and my neighbour is putting up her lights on her house already!
unfortunately we live in a world of pure unadulterated commercialism. A bar in my town centre put up its christmas tree and decs the day after the August bank holiday. How obscene, and don't forget that Harrods and Harvey Nicks had their christmas departments open at the beginning of August.
It does spoil things a lot as it just pushes and pushes and puts a lot of pressure on people unnecesarily. That said, I think when it comes to home decorating that is purely your choice, I have friends who start decorating in the middle of November, I start in the 3rd week and have it completely ready for the start of advent. After all, you put a lot of effort into decorations, why not make the most of them.....January can seem very drab in comparison when they are taken down. (by the 5th btw)
Merry Christmas, Sweetheart!
by Judy Burnette
Merry Christmas, Sweetheart
with you is where I want to be
Yet it seems our lives are complicated
for I am the one not free,
Yet the very best present
is the gift of one's self
I have given you a part of me
that has never belonged to anyone else.
So we can't be together this Christmas
yet our souls are not apart
for I have given you the best part of me
I have given you my heart.
Click the link at the bottom and look at the 1st and 3rd page please! I put the plain card without any pictures in the middle to help with the comparison. After you take a good look let me know which one is best and thanks so much for your time, eyes, and opinions!

Ada resident speaks to Hardin County Homemakers
About seventy Hardin County Homemakers and their guests joined together last week for their annual holiday program "A Jingle Bell Christmas" at the First Baptist Church, Kenton. The morning keynote speaker, Marie Gossman, retired florist from Ada, showed how to make a basic centerpiece last all holiday season with three easy changes. She used a pine base and a combination of tea lights, clove stuffed oranges, and carnations to change the look of the table decoration. She ended her program with a prayer she wrote to her family the first Christmas after her ordeal with Toxic Shock over four years ago.

Swistle: This is a Test of the Emergency Christmas Card Scoring System
Our first Christmas card arrived and is an excellent test of the Christmas Card Scoring System , but I'm worried about quoting from it because OMG WHAT IF THEY GOOGLE THEIR OWN CHRISTMAS LETTER? But that's not likely, is it? Er...is it? But perhaps someone who reads this blog has received the same letter and would know who it was and would tell them. I'm remembering when Sundry 's dad found her blog because of searching for the recipe for a drink they had during his visit. Or I might not be remembering the details exactly right (recipe? drink?), but that was the GIST, and I spent some time searching for the post so I could get the details right and I kept getting distracted by the archives...
