Are you suppose to give a gift to a 9 year olds birthday sleepover, came on a a regular spiderman hallmark invitation, not sure what the etiquette is for this.
The question is because This is our first sleepover, I want to know the etiquette of gifting, better ask than to assume!

Yes you should send a gift, unless the invitation gave other specific instructions. If you are unsure what to get, we always give a gift card to Target, something like $10 is fine, this way the birthday child can pick out what they want.
If you would prefer to send a wrapped gift instead of a giftcard, call the RSVP number and ask if there is anything specific the child likes.

SIL has currently stopped talking to me for no given reason. It has been maybe 3 months or more. I see her when I have to visit DH family but she wont say hi to me or even have a conversation with me. I noticed that something is bothering her but I'm not 100% sure. She has a son who is going to be turning 7 soon and normally around this time she always ask what I think about certain ideas for his birthday. To this day she hasnt contacted me at all. Just last weekend the family got together and she didnt say hi to me, didnt talk to me. My intuition was confirmed when she was talking to her grandmother and I was next to her grandma, she ask her for her opinion on what invitation she tought was nicer. Keep in mind that for the past 7 years she has always come to me to ask me for my opinion. The grandma gave her opinion and even though I was next to the grandma she didnt ask me. Is no big deal, what is driving me crazy is the fact that she wont talk to me and if there is something that is bothering her about me, why wont she tell me and ask me. Normally she would of had mentioned the plans to the party and the date because she knows I have to request the time off in advance. We have mutual friends and we all have kids of the same age and they have already been told the date for the party but not DH and I. SIL son is DH and my Godchild. DH and I are still planning on taking nephew out to lunch on his birthday but I'm concern that SIL wont even let us do that. My son is 6yrs old and him and his cousin had a great time during the weekend and my nephew mentioned to my son that he was going to have a spiderman birthday party, so we know for a fact that there is going to be a birthday party I just dont know if we are going to be invited. Now my question basically is If my family was to get an invitation from her even if its the day before the party, should we go. DH thinks it will be better if we dont go. I'm so confussed because I know I should be the bigger person and talk to her but at the same time I'm afraid she might be so upset about something and make things worst than they really are. I have an idea as to what the problem could be but then this question will become a 2 page article. So I really dont know what to do. I will really appreciate in advance all the advice that I can get. Thank you

I'm sure you already know that about the only way you're going to find out what the problem is is to ask her. So, either go ahead and ask her or just get on with your life and don't worry about it. I have a person in my life who is sort of treating me the same way without telling me what is wrong. I've just decided that if she's going be be that way, then I just won't have anything to do with her any longer. But, if you don't want to do that, then ask her.

My sons first birthday is coming up on June 5th & i wanted to make his invitations but i wanted a cute saying to go on the front any cute ideas? & by the way the theme is going to be Spiderman.
