We have about 150 students, so cost of the card is important.
Making these things are reasonable simple. Here is a card you can print out on an 8x11 sheet of paper. Once printed out, you fold into quarters and then either you put it in an envelope or just put an address and a returtn address with a stamp and the post office will deliever it without an envelope. You should tape it closed for delivery.
The card is at http://www.cowdancewear.com/dancecard.ht m
once you get there, right click the image and then either save it to your disk for printing out later or print then.
No gift cards, etc.
An item that pampers the woman without being too personal is probably the best choice... stationary, candles, chocolates, a small plant, cocoa or tea, a soft scarf and gloves, a popular book, etc.

I need to get some ideas for a birthday present for my girlfriend because I am stumped. She said she will be mad if it's over $10. Her favorite color is blue, so I was thinking of something blue. I was also thinking of getting her a B-day card, maybe a funny and/or naughty one. I don't know?
Make her a homemade birthday card, it will have a lot more meaning, and then you can use the whole $10 toward the gift. Some ideas: go to the dollar store and get a photo album and fill it with pictures of the two of you, and of you from when you were growing up. Also, if you have talked about a future together, cut out a magazine picture of your "dream house" and include it. If you have a Micheal's craft store near you, they have a lot of craft kits you can get if she is into that kind of thing. Sterling silver jewelry is not usually expensive, and you could get some at Wal-Mart for that price possibly. If she reads, you could get her a book (poetry?). And you could always go with the trusty gift certificate.

My husband's birthday is in a couple days and I need an inexpensive idea for his gift. We aren't doing "real" bday presents this year because we're going away later this month and need to save money. For my birthday he just got me flowers and a we had a special breakfast...and a coffee cake for my birthday cake. I made him a card so far..but what would be a fun/cheap thing to do or get him?? So far I was just going to give him the card with some beer and maybe bake a cake lol...but if anyone has some other ideas please leave them!
How about a small, basic scrapbook. Just use pictures you already have...and you can buy the other materials at an arts and crafts store - it's not too pricey if you don't go overboard =)
Well obviously she is 13 so she has no income and she cannot drive. She's extremely addicted to crafting, scrabooking and making greeting cards. She already has a few little tools, special scissors and some paper punchers that she got for her birthday. She runs out of Ideas quickly because when she's at home nobody will help her or be creative with her...how can she get some good ideas and what's the cheapest, easiest way for her to continue doing these hobbies without spending money and having to get out of the house much?
I do get involved in crafting with her, it's just that when she's home nobody is there to help her
I'm her cousin
Their are lots of scrapbooking websites that can offer ides without having to purchase things. Just put scrapbooking in your search bar and you have hundreds of sites to choose from.
As far as cheap supplies.... I know my local Dollar General sells scrapbooking supplies at REALLY reasonable rates.

How to Stay in Touch with Your Network Contacts - The Career ...
Laura writes:
I’ve always heard you should regularly communicate with members of your network to avoid “using” them only when you need them to find a job. How do you keep tabs on your network contacts if you have nothing major to report?
The Career Doctor responds:
Find ways to share information with them that is not necessarily about you but will interest them. Send your contacts clippings of articles that will be of interest to them with a sticky note attached that says “Saw this article and thought of you.” If your company produces publications that would be of interest to your contacts, have them placed on the subscription list. Let them know of events they might be interested in attending. Also consider sending amusing cartoons you’ve clipped, or even photos. After you’ve met a new contact, you can send a quick postcard to mention how much you enjoyed meeting him or her. Make it a picture postcard of a local site, and you can make an inexpensive yet memorable impression. For someone who has been helpful beyond your wildest dreams, a grand gesture, such as sending flowers or taking them to lunch, would not be out of line. Send holiday and birthday cards. You’ll really impress people if you can pick up on a mention of when their birthday is from casual conversation. They’ll be amazed that you remembered their special day and sent a card.
