LDS (Mormons) - could you give me an idea of what I could write on a baby birthday card?
317 Happy Spring

My online LDS friend is going to have a baby in a few weeks and I bought the cutest little bracelet :D and I want to send it to her with a card, but I need some ideas what to write. What do you usually write on baby cards? Should it be religious?
I want it to be appropriate, cute and original :)
Could you help and give me some examples?
Thanks.

:)

Oceanwoman -
XOXO!!!
I love them!!

"If you are not particularly religious, why go there."
- because I can
"I wouldn't attempt to do anything different just because they are LDS."
- well you're not me.. I would.
"Same rules of etiquette apply to them as anybody else."
- right, but sometimes in different religions/cultures they have different ways of doing it, and if I could say anything that would make it more special, I will do it. Like if there's a certain quote I could attach to my wishes, or something like that. I really don't see anything wrong with that.
"Just be you and forget that you often see them primarily as Mormon and secondarily as proud parents."
- I AM. That's why I'm asking what's appropriate. I'm trying to be considerate of their beliefs. For example - if they were Jehova's Wittnesses - they wouldn't accept gifts on birthdays, right? So I wouldn't show up to a Jehova's Wittness's door with a gift just because to me their religious beliefs "don't matter" ...
I am who I am, and I'm always doing what I think it's right. If I want to go one step ahead, I can. The fact that I am not religious, doesn't have anything to do with it.
A few years ago I had that muslim boyfriend, he called me on Christmas Day to wish me Merry Christmas, I told him then "but you don't even believe that.." and he said "right, but YOU do. And I want to make it special to you."
Let me tell you, I learned a lot from that.
I send over 70 Christmas cards each year, + a few for Hanukkah... and I do celebrate Hanukkah/Christmas with my boss's family...
I think it's a good thing..
:)
Ms Stevie -
I am NOT confusing LDS and JW, I just said that to show him (anyone) my point of view, that it's important to know a few things and take them under consideration.
Let me give you another example then...
a few years back, if I was about to send a gift to someone who is LDS, I would have sent something like a gold necklace with a little cross on it. I wouldn't have known better. I was ignorant about certain things. Or some coffee, or tea for b-day. Even though I wouldn't have had bad intentions, that wouldn't have been appropriate.

lol I'm not a native speaker, so I don't know if what I said in the last few sentences made sense. I'm getting confused with past tenses sometimes :)
Ms Stevie -
well.
the bracelet has little dangling crabs on it, b/c I live in MD and MD is known for crabs. She is in Utah, so I thought it would be kind of nice...
I hope she likes it, if not - I will get something else.
B/c I'm cool like that.
;)

Just a," Heres a little gift for your new(est) baby girl.. Best wishes!

Heres a few cute sayings I found...

A Miracle has come to be with this addition to Your Family Tree. Welcome (name).

A baby is a miracle sent from heaven above, to touch your lives with wonder and love.

Your lovely bouncing baby girl
Will bring you so much pleasure
And over the years will give you
Such memories to treasure

She's our precious little daughter
With a sweetness from above
Who will fill our years with laughter
And our lives with lots of love.

If you are looking for a program to do this by hand, you can acutally use something like Microsoft Publisher and use the greeting card template. I love using Print Shop, the software is inexpensive. You can also use trusty sites like www.kodakgallery.com to have a card made professionally. That site is fairly inexpensive too! Have fun!

Ty Beanie Baby Trading Cards value?
315 Bouquet

Hi! I have a bunch of beanie baby cards that i want to sell, but i really want to know the worth. I have about 4 artist- proof cards, 1 buddy card, 3 wild cards, 3 birthday cards, a limited edition tear- a- bear card, and about 60 common cards. Can you help me figure out the worth of my collection? Thanks!!

P.S. they are all series 3 cards. Thanks for your help!!

Unfortunately, the Beanie Baby values have dropped considerably over the years. They're not worth nearly as much as they used to be. Same goes with the cards. If you can find any value to them at all. Since determining the value is difficult, it's best to check sites like eBay and Craigslist to see what the going rate for the cards are. Sounds like you've got some rare ones, although I can't really tell since I never got into collecting the cards.

You can also go to the Ty.com site and check there. If you're a registered user on the site, just log in and go to their boards and ask around there, or check their trade boards. Good luck!!

First, I would like to share the card I made for my sister-in-law to congratulate her on the birth of my precious little nephew, Charlie. I bought this stamp knowing I would be using it for this special occasion.I used the Baja Breeze Die Cut sheet from the Nursery Suite Specialty Designer Series Paper. I cut a piece of Chocolate Chip paper and put it behind the scallops so the pretty design would show through. I also used Baja Breeze paper from the Subtles Patterns DSP pack. I punched out a tiny heart and added the bow. Isn't this sweet? Welcome to my blog! I have been married to a wonderful man for 21 years. I have two boys, 8 & 6, who mean the world to me. I recently became an...
