Christmas Birth Announcement

My baby is due 11/26 and I'm one of those people who send out their Christmas cards the Friday after Thanksgiving. So my questions is do you think it's tacky to send a birth announcement and a Christmas card as one card? It probably will be December by the time I get them out. Did anyone do this?

I saw one someone did and it was cute. It said something like "The Jones have a special new gift just in time for Christmas...Name" I don't think it is tacky, or you could just include it inside the card. Either way it is fine.

Hilarious child birth video where overzealous video-camera dad gets what's coming to him.

My husband and I ordered special Christmas cards with a passage from the Bible regarding a son being born, and it happened to be from Isaiah, which is what we named our son. We decided to give these out as Christmas cards, but also include our son's picture in it with his birth details. He was born December 1.

I need some help picking a picture though. We're taking them this afternoon to print them off, and I just can't choose.

I recently had a baby and am sending out birth announcements. I am also planning on sending out Christmas cards. Would it be OK to mail out the 2 together to save on postage since both will be going to the same set of 50 people?

I don't see what's wrong with that. At least, I wouldn't feel offended if I were one of the recipients.

My baby will have a cleft lip and palate. Someone told me I shouldn't send birth announcements or Christmas photos because of this. I don't understand why I shouldn't be able to celebrate my baby's birth just like everyone else. What are your thoughts?
Thank you. I am absolutely sending them out, i just wanted to see if anyone else felt the same way she did....she really hurt my feelings.

Of course you should!!! A woman on www.cleftadvocate.org had a TERRIFIC announcment and showed it online...If you do a seach, you'll be able to see it...I have a daughter that was born with a cleft lip and palate..Celebrate your baby! It goes by too fast and and their little faces change so much..Enjoy!!

My due date is December 14th so I was thinking of sending birth announcements instead of Christmas cards this year. I make my own cards so I'll probably make them so they fit for both.

How many did you send out? I just went through my list and came up with about 84. Is that a normal number?

Also, who did you send announcements to?

We sent out about 70 or 80... we both have large families, and a lot of great friends! (We also included some co-workers) You want everyone to know about your precious bundle of joy... send out as many as you want! Congrats :)
