i want to make a cute an noucement for my baby boy one of the ones where you just fill in the pictures and info and print from home on 4x6 photo paper. I really like the ones with more than one picture.
Well photo shop can really help... or by the special paper and print a pic of him of your computer... orrr walmart makes them cheap :) congrats!!

are there any online printers that will print your design/picture on card stock rather than regular photo paper? i want to do our birth announcements with a photo from a design that i created on 5x7 card stock. any thoughts?
You can get color copies on card stock from Staples. Go to www.staplescopycenter.com and you can fill out a form to email with the picture to your nearest Staples store. They do an amazing job and it's not too expensive.

We are looking to send birth announcements to our friends and family and would like to use 2 - 4 photos that were taken by a professional. (We have her permission.)
We are looking for suggestions on some cheaper photo birth announcements. We do like the card stock options, but they are just way too expensive, especially considering that we are sending out almost 100 - so we are probably wanting to go with the real photo cards. I've seen the standard stuff online, and want something a bit more stylish. Anyone have any experience or thoughts? Thanks!

From what I can tell, these look like actual photo cards - they say that they are printed on "real photographic paper." And, they have a ton of stylish designs - unlike some of the really cheap services. Oh - even better, they have quantity discounts.
In further research, there are a ton of similar services out there, but this site has got to have the best designs for birth announcements I've seen today.
This particular site has a proof process, so it isn't "instant." There are other services I came across like Tiny Prints that you can see it first, but as you indicated, the card stock is quite expensive.

I never sent out birth announcements because I wanted to do one with photos but I really didn't have any professional photos that I wanted to send out. Now I am sending out a photo collage on a card and I wouldn't really call it a birth announcement, it's just a card but I wanted to somehow maybe tie in Easter and our baby and make the wording related to that. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I could say in the greeting?
I would say, "(Baby's Name) has kept us busy for six months! Hope you enjoy catching up with him in pictures and have a Happy Easter!"
I would like to send out old-fashioned snail-mail announcements. Should i bother with photo announcements? Where can i get affordable ones?
PS- making my own is a great idea but i don't have a printer right now!
About a week ago I came across a couple of sites that have really great looking designer photo birth announcements - granted... they may not be really cheap, but one in particular is very affordable. One of them offers card stock as well - but the true photo cards are much less expensive than others - like as low as .93 cents each.

Of course, there are the others like Shutterfly, Snapfish and PhotoWorks. But... those are more basic templates with not much opportunity for customization. I guess it depends upon your definition of "cheap." (Though, Shutterfly does have a new "designer" line... but they are much higher than the photo cards.)
Oh...and printing stuff at home isn't always the cheapest way to go... it can get VERY expensive and time consuming, real fast!
