I would like to get the word out about my announcement business and I was wondering where I should be posting flyers or if there are any online places I can post. I thought I would ask those who have just had babies or know people who have young ones. If you know anyone who is intrested just email me at Cinderella1002@yahoo. Thanks for this info!
id imagine the first place to look would be on online womens magazines and sites, baby clothes sites, etc. Also, local radio is a great way to advertise.
Now that's service.
My husband is in the military so I want to put our birth announcement in our hometown paper. How do I word that she wasn't born in our hometown? Do I put that before her information, or after it? This really confuses me and I can't find an example anywhere of a similar situation. Thanks for any help you can offer.
I'd call your hometown paper and ask how they handle out of town births. So often they just get the information from the local hospital and print it the next day (with parent's permission of course). So they may counsel you to have someone call a specific department when your baby is born so they can report it in the birth section. They'll probably just list it as "name of parents, baby name and birth information, name of hospital baby born in, name of town baby born in."
I am starting a birth announcement business and want to find an affordable printer that can provide photo card printing at an affordable rate. After all I want to make a profit on these :-)
Can anyone recommend a good online affordable printer?
Did you try Kinko's?
I am debating on what size birth announcement to mail to family. If I do the 5x7 size (single picture in envelope basically), will that be the regular .44 stamp or will it require additional because of size?
Why not just do it for free? Use a free online service like www.amigram.com. You can upload photos, video, links and your own content to tell everyone about your new baby. Save yourself some money by skipping the printing and postage charges. All you have to do is upload your email contacts and send it out.
People appreciate the opportunity to share their good news without having to let all their relatives and parents’ friends onto their Facebook page, pay for a newspaper listing, or create a website.
Of course, they can also send their announcement to Facebook and Twitter, if they want to spread the news; or if they want to keep their announcement private, they can restrict it so only friends and family see it.
I want to find my daugter's birth announcement in the local newspaper, BUT She was born 7 months ago. And I didn't put it in there in the first place. Can someone help me please? It means a lot to me if I can get it and put it in her baby book.
She was born on April 10, 2007 in South Bend, Indiana.
The hospital doesn't do it in my area.. it's the parents responsibility to do this where I live.. and we never did one. In order for it to be in the paper, I think most places have the parents send it in.. there was too much liability on hospitals doing it for parents. I saw this on 60 minutes once....

KEARNEY — Whether you’re young or old, going to a candy store is fun.
Ben and Doris Wong opened Bumblebee’s in Hilltop Mall two years ago. Bumblebee’s sells bulk candy, tea, tea sets and Asian snacks.
Ben said kids love to come to the store to buy candy, but they’re not the only ones.
“It’s a happy time, not just for kids, but for adults, too,” Ben said. “Everybody smiles when they walk by our store and notice all of our candy. Even grandpas get excited.”
“We see lots of happy customers,” Doris said. “Ninety-nine percent of our customers are happy when they walk out of here. Some people you can never make happy. It’s their personality, not our store.”

The money line is Buchanan asserting that she did the smart thing politically since Birthers are, after all, a chunk of the GOP base and all she really defended was their right to ask questions. Ace made a similar point today: Politics is politics, so if you have to toss a small bone to your fringies now and then to keep them focused on your broader agenda, so be it. Eh, I don’t buy it. I agree that being snotty to your fringies is dumb and likely to lose you votes, but there are ways to tactfully disagree with them. E.g., “It’s great to see the public intent on holding the president to the letter of the Constitution, but I think the certificate of live birth satisfies the natural-born requirement.” She’s not going to lose anyone’s vote with a polite rejection like that (except maybe Alan Keyes’s), especially since no other GOP candidate will end up endorsing Birtherism. She might, however, lose votes for having given the answer she did, especially if she wins the nomination and Democrats start pitching to centrists by calling her a crank. Why play to the base when she, more than any other Republican, already has the base — and Birthers — in her hip pocket? It’s moderates she needs, not “true conservatives.”
