My baby will have a cleft lip and palate. Someone told me I shouldn't send birth announcements or Christmas photos because of this. I don't understand why I shouldn't be able to celebrate my baby's birth just like everyone else. What are your thoughts?
Thank you. I am absolutely sending them out, i just wanted to see if anyone else felt the same way she did....she really hurt my feelings.
Of course you should!!! A woman on www.cleftadvocate.org had a TERRIFIC announcment and showed it online...If you do a seach, you'll be able to see it...I have a daughter that was born with a cleft lip and palate..Celebrate your baby! It goes by too fast and and their little faces change so much..Enjoy!!
I never sent out birth announcements because I wanted to do one with photos but I really didn't have any professional photos that I wanted to send out. Now I am sending out a photo collage on a card and I wouldn't really call it a birth announcement, it's just a card but I wanted to somehow maybe tie in Easter and our baby and make the wording related to that. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I could say in the greeting?
I would say, "(Baby's Name) has kept us busy for six months! Hope you enjoy catching up with him in pictures and have a Happy Easter!"

the reason i ask is because i am currently working towards a graphic design major and i also am a stay at home mom for the mean time with my 4 month old baby. i really enjoy making invitations, announcements, etc. for friends and family so my sister suggested i could start selling on ebay. im thinking for $5 or less. i would be selling a digital image of personalized announcements or invitations, then the buyer would just have to upload it to any printing site and order the amount of their choice. i've seen several people do it this way.
Yes, I really liked all those, especially the 3rd and 4th ones. We did cheap birth announcements though because babies are expensive enough. I got them on shutterfly and they were $0.20 a piece, and if you ordered 60 you got 20 free.
Many Changes are Afoot! Yahoo!, Twitter, & Google Buzz Go on the Offensive
, Buzz has already undergone several changes and improvements, thanks to the loud and clear feedback users sent to Google, much of which was in regards to Buzz' lax privacy policy. Despite these changes, Buzz' popularity is already beginning to cause the online world to take note.
Since Google launched Buzz earlier this month, and following the many subsequent complaints that Google was not making it clear people had to opt-out of the public nature of their profiles, Google has made several changes to Buzz' default settings. After just two days of use, Google edited the checkbox allowing the list of followers to become public by making it "more prominent" so people will have an easier time seeing it in the first place. They also made it possible to "block" followers or "unfollow" people, and have set it up so users will clearly identify their contacts who do not have a public profile.
