this works best if you know the baby's name already...

Hi my name is "Baby's Name"
My mommy and daddy would like to invite you to celebrate w/ them my arrival into the world!
then normal time, place, locaction etc.
If the baby's born, there could be a line about looking forward to meeting everyone. Of course, if this is a pre-birth shower, just skip that part.
From the baby's perspective, you could do a cute line about how much he/she likes presents! lol! W/out being too tacky, of course.

Hilarious child birth video where overzealous video-camera dad gets what's coming to him.

My guy is 8 weeks as of yesterday and we just mailed out the last batch. Picture place took longer than expected with pictures, but still, it's not a big deal.

I think it is tacky to not send a birth announcement to someone that was invited and gave a gift at a baby shower. My mom doesn't think it is necessary because none of her friends kid's have sent birth announcements even though she has been invtited to their showers.

I have been to about 8 or 9 baby showers and never have received one-- I thought that tradition had been pretty much dried out? Maybe thats just around here (in Virginia)...

My baby will have a cleft lip and palate. Someone told me I shouldn't send birth announcements or Christmas photos because of this. I don't understand why I shouldn't be able to celebrate my baby's birth just like everyone else. What are your thoughts?
Thank you. I am absolutely sending them out, i just wanted to see if anyone else felt the same way she did....she really hurt my feelings.

Of course you should!!! A woman on www.cleftadvocate.org had a TERRIFIC announcment and showed it online...If you do a seach, you'll be able to see it...I have a daughter that was born with a cleft lip and palate..Celebrate your baby! It goes by too fast and and their little faces change so much..Enjoy!!
