Is it appropriate to let family and friends know where you are registered to be included in the baby announcement that are sent out upon the birth of a baby?
I would not do that; did you have or are you having a shower before the baby is born? That is the time to send out the registry information. You just don't want to look like you are "asking" for gifts whereas at a shower you are expected to bring a gift with you. Hope this opinion helps and congrats!!

My baby is due 11/26 and I'm one of those people who send out their Christmas cards the Friday after Thanksgiving. So my questions is do you think it's tacky to send a birth announcement and a Christmas card as one card? It probably will be December by the time I get them out. Did anyone do this?
I saw one someone did and it was cute. It said something like "The Jones have a special new gift just in time for Christmas...Name" I don't think it is tacky, or you could just include it inside the card. Either way it is fine.
Hi, I'm expecting a baby in mid-October. I think people usually send birth announcements to their friends and family, but in less than two months, holidays are coming up. We usually send holiday cards, and to send both seems like lots of card writing in such a short period of time.
If it was you, would you send birth announcements or combine it with the holiday cards?

You most likely won't get the announcements out until Nov 1st anyway. So, I'd get a photo of your new family done up in a Christmas style and put it into the envelope with the birth announcement. Put a cute note with it saying that now that baby is here you are ready to be "all snuggled down for a long winter's nap" and that you hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas.
That way you get your Christmas pictures out, announce the baby and cleared your list of two jobs to get done at once. And if some one complains don't send them a card next year! LOL
My sister just had her baby the other day and I really want to make a birth announcement card to send to people. I want to download a software to do so. I need a software that is free and that is going to give me a lot of options. For example, the name, time, weight, lenght, where, when, add a photo, size of lettering, text, and so on. Please help. You can create your own baby card using your photos at CropMom at http://www.cropmom.com. CropMom is an online scrapbooking site that has thousands of graphics you can use to embellish your card.
Most cards are 5" by 7" so use that canvas size.
You can add your own text, choose from a variety of fonts and sizes.
Once you've made your layout, you can purchase for a small fee the high-resolution, print-quality JPEG file of your layout. You can print the JPEG file at home or have it printed by a photofinisher. I personally like the cards at Snapfish because you can add another 5" by 7" landscape size layout (which is automatically reduced by Snapfish to fit the space) to the inside of the card.
One more thing: CropMom has divided the graphics into "kits." There is one called "A Visit from the Stork" and it has baby stuff.
i want to create my own template of announcements or birthday cards with my Paint Shop Pro (which is like photoshop but from Corel) but i am just not sure how to start. Especially with all the cute little designs on it i just don't know how to create that (like swirls or little animals) anyone know? (this is for my photography business)

Mr. Schledwitz, My suggestion is that you look in the mirror, when you say “wake up, people!” It is the shift toward socialism that has gotten us into the mess we are in today, where freedom-loving Americans are somehow seen as ‘evil’ and people passionate enough to fight for freedom are somehow seen as ‘mob’-like, and even ‘hateful.’ You need to take a long, hard, look at your own conscience.
And, Susan… I am an Ivy League grad who loves Sarah Palin. I happen to know that many people who like her are extremely well-educated. And, I also happen to know that she has never said anything that wasn’t true. The thing that makes her different from Obama is that he imagines that he is, somehow, smarter than those who listen to him – while, Sarah Palin understands that we are all equal in God’s eyes. If you don’t believe that – i.e., if you think certain people are superior – then, you are a socialist. Obama and his allies are socialists. Socialists imagine that people in power rule over the people; while, Americans understand that the people in power serve the people. Service requires humility.
