Starting a birth announcement printing business from home?
2009 01 26_0258

I want to start a home business designing and printing birth announcements and invitations. Can anyone share some light as to how do I get started? I don't need help with the design aspect. I want to know if I should invest in buying high quality printers or outsource my printing.

It depends on the amount of money you want to invest right from the beginning. You should compare prices of printer vs. outsourcing. If it is going to be more beneficial to purchase a printer, then that is what I suggest. Remeber, you can depreciate the printer and use it as a deduction on your taxes.

If you purchase a printer you would be able to keep your customer's costs down because you won't be paying a fee to the printing company.

Check with your state department of revenue to see what the requirements are for starting a business. You may be required to collect and report sales tax, etc.

How can you find birth announcements that were printed in past newspapers?
365 birth announcement cards.

I have never met my biological father and I know, from family member that know his circle of friends, that he does have other children. But I am having a hard time finding what their names are. I was wondering if there were a way to get copies of birth announcements that were printed in newspapers from that area?!?

Go to the library and tell the libraian that you want to look for birth announcements in the local paper. They're all there. She'll set ya right up.

want to print photo for birth announcement on card stock?

are there any online printers that will print your design/picture on card stock rather than regular photo paper? i want to do our birth announcements with a photo from a design that i created on 5x7 card stock. any thoughts?

You can get color copies on card stock from Staples. Go to www.staplescopycenter.com and you can fill out a form to email with the picture to your nearest Staples store. They do an amazing job and it's not too expensive.

Good luck!

Sheriff's race develops at starting gate

Twists and turns characterize Marshall County's election campaign for sheriff as candidates jockey for position even before the August ballot is set for the race.

Lewisburg Police Chief Chuck Forbis won't be running for the top cop position in the county, announcing "I'm not running out of loyalty to the community and the men and women of the department. I'd rather remain in my current position."

Forbis had only announced his intention to run. Technically, he was only thinking about running since he'd only obtained a petition to be named on the Aug. 5 ballot. He refrained from filing the document.

A similar step - obtaining a petition - has been taken by Patrick E. Ryan, 25, of 1711

Announce It! by Natalie: Hannah Natalie Parks Birth Announcement

Option 1 - Once approval has been received I will U.S. mail the design on a CD-ROM to your address. From here just take the design to any local print shop to have the announcements or invitations printed. I suggest Sams Club or Costco because they are the least expensive. However, if you have a poor quality picture you might need to pay the extra expense and have them printed at a professional print shop such as Ritz Camera. Cost for the total project is a flat $35.00 Option 2 - You can tell me how many announcements or invitations you need. I will have the project printed for you and then I will U.S. mail the design on a CD-ROM along with your announcements or inviations that were ordered....
