my son was born 27th october and i was in hospital for a week and always intended to announce his birth then just kept forgetting with everything going on, mainly want to as a keepsake- do you think its too late now, will people think it strange? it could go in tomorrow
he's 3 weeks old today

I don't mean when you found out you were pregnant, I mean when you actually gave birth. As in, you're in the hospital with your baby in your arms

sense i am 19 years old it was not the happy excited way i pictured myself telling my mom about my first pregnancy..but after the support from everyone i came o ut to the rest of my family and was happy to tell them.

i just put it bluntly "im pregnant". lol. then the sonogram picture came out.

Smae as everyone else, you ring all your friends and family and tell them.

When visiting hours are over and you have to leave the hosputal you go and "wet the baby's head" which means you go for a pint with your friends and family.

I've always wondered this: what's the point of announcing your baby's weight at birth? Why does everyone need to know how much the baby weighs? As long as he/she is healthy, what's the point? Is this an old tradition that keeps getting carried on despite its loss of relevance? Thanks!

Because announcing the weight is the same as saying they're healthy. To have an under-weight baby is not a good thing, and so if they weigh a healthy amount, everything is fine.

Plus, a lot of people are interested in how much the baby weighed, to have a guess on how hard the delivery was.

My first grandchild was born two days ago.
I am really eager to let my extended family know. Buying and sending paper announcements will take too long.

Is it ok to send an anouncment by e-mail? That way I can reach a lot of people directly and include the first photos too.

I think the best way is to climb up on your roof and holler "WHO-HOOOOO"....lol joking of course, but i bet you feel like it! Congratulations!!

Email is definately an excellent way to announce, especially with pictures! Get typing Grandmother! Send paper after...get the news out now! Congrats again!!
